Ukrainian defense forces shot down 60 of 93 drones launched by Russia overnight, while 26 others disappeared from radars, the Ukrainian Air Force reported Friday, lamenting the death of one person in Kiev.
The statement released on Telegram specifies that Shahed attack drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles were launched from the Russian territories of Bryansk, Milerovo and Oryol.
“As of 0930 hours, 60 Shahed attack drones and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Poltava, Sumi, Kharkov, Kyiv, Chernobyl, Cherkassy, Zhitomir, Donetsk and Drnipropetrovsk regions,” he specifies.
In addition, due to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 26 drones of various types disappeared from the radars without any negative consequences, while another one was still in the air at the time of the release.
The report adds that several drones hit private businesses and apartment buildings in the Donetsk and Chernobyl regions.

The night attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, Air Force mobile fire groups and the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Separately, Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down 22 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over six regions of the country last night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported Friday.
According to the military report, 10 of the unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the Bryansk region, 4 in Oryol, 4 in Rostov, 2 in Belgorod, 1 in Volgograd and 1 in Lipetsk.
The attack in Belgorod, on the border with Ukraine, left one person wounded and hospitalized, local authorities said.
Meanwhile, in Kursk last night they reported the downing of five Ukrainian missiles.
The most massive Ukrainian drone attack in recent days was recorded on New Year's Eve, when Russia reported the downing of 68 drones over eight of its regions.
