The recently re-elected president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, in his first speech of 2025 in the organization, signed an official communication that reiterates the invitation to Nicolás Maduro for his swearing-in in the national parliament next Friday, January 10.

He highlighted that "the only body capable and in a position to proclaim popular election positions in Venezuela and that proclaimed Nicolás Maduro president, is the CNE, not psychopathic presidents of countries in the world, not institutions that only obey the designs of the dollar."

And he emphasized: "On January 10, in this same venue, you will see your president Nicolás Maduro take the oath of office before the deputies of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela."
These statements were made in rejection of the tour of Latin America that Edmundo González Urrutia began prior to fulfilling his promise to return to Venezuela on January 10.
Rodríguez pointed out that "in case he touches an inch of land of the Republic, we will request immediate arrest."
He added that González Urrutia would be detained "for violation of the Liberator Simón Bolívar Law, for usurpation of functions, treason, money laundering" and recalled that the arrest warrant would extend "to those who accompany him and have debts with the Republic." ”.
